PocketCoded Java
Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 27, 2026
PocketCoded Java is a mobile coding workspace. Your projects and editor data are kept on your device unless you choose to send content to an external service, such as an AI provider or a Git host. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information we collect and why
- Account information: when you register or sign in, we process your name, email address, account identifier, sign-in provider, email-verification status, and authentication information. Firebase Authentication handles passwords; PocketCoded Java does not receive your plain-text password. This data is used to create and secure your account and provide password reset and email verification.
- Purchase and access information: we process trial start/end times, premium status, and Google Play purchase status to provide trials, purchases, and purchase restoration. Google Play processes payment details; we do not receive your full payment card information.
- Device and security information: Firebase, Google Play services, and Play Integrity may process IP address, device/app identifiers, user-agent information, authentication tokens, and device/app attestation signals to operate the service, prevent fraud, and verify that requests come from a genuine app installation.
- Support communications: if you contact us, we receive the address and contents of your message so we can respond.
Information stored locally
Source code, projects, imported files, editor state, terminal/console content, settings, Git configuration and credentials, AI settings, API keys, and conversation history may be stored in the app's private storage or in locations you select through Android's file picker. The app accesses a selected file or folder only when you choose it. Local data remains until you delete it, clear the app's storage, remove access to a selected location, or uninstall the app. Android backup features may back up eligible app data according to your device and Google account settings.
Optional AI features
If you use an AI feature, PocketCoded Java sends your prompt and relevant code or project context directly to the provider and endpoint you select. Your personal API key is also sent to that provider to authenticate the request. Supported choices may include Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft Azure OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Mistral, Together AI, or a custom endpoint. We do not route those requests through a PocketCoded Java server. The selected provider processes the submitted data under its own terms and privacy policy. Do not submit secrets or personal data you do not want that provider to process.
Git, downloads, and other network requests
Network features run only when needed or initiated by you. Cloning, pulling, pushing, or otherwise using Git sends repository content and credentials to the Git host you select. Terminal network commands send data to the destination you specify. The app may download runtime components and developer tools from their publishers. Those third parties may receive technical information such as your IP address and request metadata under their own privacy policies.
Service providers and sharing
We share information only as needed to provide features you request, including with:
- Google Firebase for authentication, account/profile and entitlement records, cloud functions, and app attestation;
- Google Play for app distribution, purchases, purchase restoration, and Play Integrity checks;
- Google Sign-In when you choose that sign-in method;
- an AI provider, Git host, custom endpoint, or other network destination that you deliberately select or contact.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users and the service, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information and do not include third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.
Retention and security
Account and entitlement records are retained while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to operate the service, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Purchase records may be retained where required for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Service-provider logs may be kept for the periods described by those providers. We use access controls, authenticated requests, restrictive database rules, and encryption in transit for our Firebase services. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Your choices and account deletion
You may request deletion of your PocketCoded Java account and associated server-side profile and entitlement data by emailing mkhokhelindebel3@gmail.com from the email address connected to your account. Use the subject “PocketCoded Java account deletion.” We may ask you to verify account ownership. We will process a verified request within 30 days, except for records we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons; any retained data will be limited to those purposes.
Account deletion does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription or remove files stored on your device or with third parties. Manage subscriptions in Google Play and delete local files or clear the app's storage through Android settings. You must separately contact an AI provider, Git host, or other third party regarding data it received from you.
Children
PocketCoded Java is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, where privacy laws may differ. We rely on the safeguards made available by our providers where applicable.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and change the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by another appropriate method when required.
